ANNUAL SPECIAL ISSUE “Biomechanical Engineering—2019 Year in Review”Source: Journal of Biomechanical Engineering:;2020:;volume( 142 ):;issue: 003::page 030201-1DOI: 10.1115/1.4045548Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: JBME continues to thrive. Our impact factor was largely unchanged at 2.02 for 2018 (from 2.05 for 2017). At the time of writing this, our total submissions in 2019 are on pace to be slightly ahead of last year's 556, and our acceptance rate is a highly selective 25–30% (depending on the outcome of manuscripts currently in review). We continue to streamline all stages of the review and publication process, and we have worked with ASME to get accepted papers published efficiently ahead of the final print journal. The tremendous effort of the Associate Editors (AEs), on all aspects of the journal operation, is acknowledged here with our profound thanks—JBME would not work without them! We especially thank retiring AEs Kris Billiar, David Corr, Ram Devireddy, Guy Genin, Ching-Long Lin, Alison Marsden, Paul Rullkoetter, Joel Stitzel, and Jonathan Vande Geest, and we welcome new AEs Tamara Reid Bush, John Costi, Tony Huang, John LaDisa, Spencer Lake, Grace O'Connell, Sudeep Sastry, Sara Wilson, and Katherine Zhang.
