Abstract: In support of a balloon shelter development program a series of wind tunnel tests were performed. The study concerned the scaling criteria for such a simulation; velocity, turbulence and frequency spectra downwind of four basic shelter shapes; the effect of screen material on shelter efficiency; and the influence of a simulated balloon presence upon the effectiveness of the shelter.
