    Electrostatic Analysis of Raindrop Distributions

Abstract: The size distribution of raindrops can be determined by a new and simple electrostatic technique. Drops entering the system become electrically charged as they fall through a grid at constant potential V0. When they contact a second, uncharged grid they then generate a voltage pulse, which is a measure of the drop size. Experimental measurements are presented with a discussion of design considerations.
