Abstract: The mean positions of the intertropical convergence zone in the Pacific Ocean, determined by analysis of the surface wind constancy and resultant vector winds, is compared with mean total cloud cover based upon TIROS data averaged over 2° squares of latitude and longitude in the equatorial Pacific.
