Abstract: SYNOPSIS The sea breeze at Corpus Christi attains unusually high velocities, becoming a fresh to strong southeast wind in the afternoon during summer. The same character of sea breeze is not to be found on either the northern or extreme southern Texas coast. The cause of this unusual sea breeze at this point is explained by reason of the topography of the hinterland of Corpus Christi and the contour of the coast line.
