| description abstract | A dual-sensor, twin?hot-film anemometer is applied to meteorological measurement of wind velocity in fair and rainy weather. Two sensors, each with a pair of hot-films mounted side by side, were operated in constant-temperature mode and calibrated in dry and rainy conditions. Conversion from anemometer voltage to effective cooling velocity was accomplished for velocity up to 35 m s?1 and in rain rates from 0 to 130 mm h?1 using a power series curve-fitting procedure. An all-weather algorithm was devised to apply the appropriate wet or dry calibration during periods with and without intermittent, light, moderate, and heavy precipitation. | |
