    Publisher: American Meteorological Society
Abstract: The computational procedures employed for the numerical integration of the barotropic model for two-dimensional non-divergent flow on a finite-difference grid covering all longitudes of the northern hemisphere south to approximately 10°N are described. The results of a pilot forecast are presented, and the implications of this work for both research and operational applications are discussed.
