| description abstract | Water reuse or substitution for high quality water in a water surplus area can be economical and a long‐term protection against shortages and land subsidence. Cost optimization using computer assisted analysis of use allocation between users (“sinks”) and supply (“sources”) demonstrated a viable analysis procedure as well as the potential for water substitution. Secondary water use by industry is more attractive in an urban environment than irrigation or ground water recharge and may best be suited for industrial parks or complexes where a dual system (process and domestic) can be installed. | |
