Abstract: This paper presents a direct solution technique derived by using a power law for the friction factor for three cases of pipe design. The parameters used in the form of the power law presented herein are allowed to vary with pipe size and Reynolds number as well as pipe type, thus providing wide coverage with good accuracy for the computation of friction factors of commercial pipes.
