Abstract: This paper outlines a theoretical development and solution of asymmetric flow into a well. A semianalytical finite‐element method has been used to simulate the asymmetric nature of the probable ground‐water inflow. The procedure for handling boundary conditions has been described, and a substantial savings in computation as compared to a standard finite element solution is indicated. A few numerical problems of practical importance have been solved and results have been presented graphically.
