Abstract: Internal electrical systems have been the cause of some very serious accidents in hyperbaric chambers. This paper describes a new “light pipe” system which can be installed in a very small opening in the vessel wall. Most of the IR energy is intercepted before the light enters the chamber resulting in a cool light source, simple to install and maintain. A description of the system is presented along with performance for several light pipe configurations.
