Abstract: The development of a two-dimensional, laterally integrated, estuarine, numerical water quality model is presented. The model is then applied to Narragansett Bay’s D.O.-B.O.D. system and shows good agreement with existing data in predicting vertical structure. Application of the model to storm-sewage overflow for the Bay also shows favorable comparison to existing data.
