Tensile Strength of Composite Materials—Part 2: Interpretation of Analysis

Source: Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering:;1973:;volume( 095 ):;issue: 003::page 835
    Author:
    B. Avitzur
    DOI: 10.1115/1.3438234
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The upper bound equation derived in Part 1 is manipulated to obtain more detailed information about composite strength and deformation behavior. Several behavior transitions which occur are discussed and the transition from homogeneous to nonhomogeneous deformation is approximated. Finally, it is demonstrated that developed expressions can be utilized to estimate composite strength.
