Abstract: The effect of adding a separable diffuser to a conventional flow nozzle is studied, analytically and experimentally, concerning the flow discharge coefficient and the loss characteristic of the overall fluid meter. Comparisons between air and water tests are made on several nondimensional coordinate systems to note the effect of compressibility on the results. Agreement between existing theories, for flow coefficients and flow losses, and experimental results is shown.
