    An Investigation of Pressure Transients in a System Containing a Liquid Capable of Air Absorption

    Source: Journal of Fluids Engineering:;1973:;volume( 095 ):;issue: 003::page 408
    Author:
    M. R. Driels
    DOI: 10.1115/1.3447044
    Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
    Abstract: The object of the paper is to describe the formulation and use of a computer model which will predict the mode of flow in hydraulic systems with rapidly changing boundary conditions. The analysis takes into account the possibility of air absorbtion, its release, and a mathematical representation of the subsequent separated flow. The model’s performance is compared to that of an experimental rig and the results and discrepancies are discussed at the end of the paper.
