Special Section on Microchannel Heat Transfer

Abstract

This special section highlights papers that were presented at the colocated meeting of the 2012 ASME Summer Heat Transfer, the Fluids Engineering Summer Meeting, and the 10th International Conference on Nano, Micro, and Minichannels Conference, also known as the HTFNMM2012. These conferences, sponsored by the Fluids Engineering and Heat Transfer Divisions, were held at Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort in Puerto Rico, USA, July 8–12, 2012. This international meeting provided a forum for engineers and researchers from 47 countries to present the latest research over a broad range of interdisciplinary topics, as well as the opportunity for technical interactions with their colleagues. Conference topics ranged from fundamental research in heat transfer, fluids engineering, and nano/micro/minichannels to analyses of practical applications. These topics included heat transfer and fluid mechanics in turbulent flows, multiphase flows, fluid machinery, electronics cooling, combustion process, biological applications, environmental applications, energy systems, renewable energy, fuel cells, experimental methods, and computational methodologies.
