    Abstract: Any continuous or quasi-continuous system of particles, moving through an arbitrary closed path, generates a gyroscopic torque when precessed. Such systems can be a belt or chain drive, continuous flow hydraulic systems, or the like. In the apparent absence of any published analytical work, the present treatment offers a first-order analytical approximation, together with some quantitative experimental evidence.
