Gravity Flows of Ideally Plastic Materials Through Slots

Source: Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering:;1969:;volume( 091 ):;issue: 002::page 414
    Author:
    W. G. Pariseau
    DOI: 10.1115/1.3591588
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Experimental evidence shows that plasticity theory is a suitable framework for analyzing the flow of bulk materials in bins and hoppers. It thus serves as a rational guide for the collection of requisite design data including the distribution of stress and velocity throughout the moving mass of material.
