| description abstract | The test results of a 8.26-in-dia ball bearing under 51,000-lb axial load at 3710 rpm are discussed. A Weibull plot of the contact fatigue data showed about 6.95 times A FBMA life, a result to be expected with vacuum-melted M50 material and MIL-L-7808 lubricant. Due to high bending stresses, the fatigue spalls initiated ring fracture. Calculation and measurement of these stresses are discussed. | |
