Abstract: Some simplified 1-degree-of-freedom (1-dof) constitutive models suitable for the simulation of high damping rubber bearings are analyzed. The well-known equivalent elastic and bilinear models are compared with a version of the Davidenkov-Martin law modified by the authors. The seismic behavior of an isolated structure is analyzed using the different models and the results are compared. The predictions obtained by means of the proposed law are also compared with experimental snap-back test results.
