Abstract: This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation on the discharge coefficient of a quadrant-edge orifice meter at high Reynolds numbers (in the range of 20,000 to 600,000). Results show that the coefficient of discharge can be related qualitatively with the drag of a cylinder in an infinite fluid medium. Results regarding upper constancy limit and reproducibility are also furnished.
