    Abstract: In the present paper the problem of contact with friction between two elastic bodies is formulated in the form of variational inequalities using half-plane assumptions for the elastic behavior. The formulation fits directly into a computational method developed in a previous paper and some numerical examples investigating the effects of using dissimilar elastic constants in the bodies and of using different load paths in the application of the external forces are given.
