    Abstract: Numerical analyses of the kinematics of an idealized model, together with experimental measurements of periodic fluctuations in the angular displacement ratio, are used to supplement existing knowledge of polygonal action in roller chain drives. The paper presents a number of drives for which harmonic analyses coefficients of the theoretical angular displacement-error function have been computed.
