The Effect of Noise on Grinding Cycles

Abstract: This paper presents a new analysis for grinding cycle simulation based upon the Fokker-Planck equation. This approach is able to describe both the deterministic behavior and the random noise for infeed controlled grinding cycles. Non-zero residual elastic deflection of the system is demonstrated for long spark-out times in the presence of noise due to random cutting force variations and feed velocity fluctuations.
