Abstract: This paper presents a simplified computer-based algorithm which can be used to study the beneficial effects of hot-stretching on thermally loaded rotors. The procedure is applicable to rotors with variable thickness and can be used to determine the optimum hot-stretching parameters as well as the optimum profile of the disk for any given thermal and mechanical loading condition.
