Abstract: The shear-driven cavity flow is studied when the cavity is assumed to contain a porous material. A finite difference solution is obtained for the flow in a rectangular cavity for various cavity aspect ratios and permeability values. The effect of these parameters on the flow, and in particular on the development of corner eddies is illustrated.
