| description abstract | Simulation of waves in numerical and physical models are often done using 1st-order linear waves; but recent investigations have shown that, under certain wave conditions, the magnitude of nonlinear waves present in a sea state can become important and necessitate the various models to include these nonlinearities. Investigations of a series of prototype records were therefore undertaken to establish the magnitude of these nonlinear waves for three different ranges of water depth. Analysis of these waves were also carried out in order to evaluate their effects on design parameters such as crest levels, velocities, etc. | |
