Abstract: This paper includes a methodology and calculated results for the stiffness of two (2) types of pipe straps. The calculated results are then compared to two (2) other sources of data: finite element analysis (FEA) computer-generated results, and test results for some of strap sizes as listed in Table 1. All calculated, FEA and test results are tabulated in Table 1. A home computer has been utilized to generate all calculated figures for different pipe sizes and straps. Graphs 1 and 2 represent all results for equations generated in this paper and can be utilized to extract the stiffness values required when appropriate width and inside radii of straps are known.
