    Abstract: The bicriterion machine loading and product mix problem in a Group Technology (GT) setting is the key to improving production output and cost and involves the primary objective of maximizing output and secondary objective of minimizing production cost. This paper proposes a search algorithm for solving the bicriterion GT problem that provides better results than Hitomi and Ham’s algorithm [6]. The proposed algorithm allows only complete lots of parts to be selected for production.
