description abstractThe state of the art for metering flow with elbow meters is surveyed and past work is correlated with recent data from tests at the Naval Boiler and Turbine Laboratory. The elbow meter is compared with the orifice, Venturi, and flow nozzle and areas where research is needed are delineated.
