Abstract: A numerical study is performed on the influence of interacting spherical cavities on the damage parameter. The material is isotropic, incompressible, power-law creeping. The results show that the nonlinearity of the material has a very small influence on the damage parameter. A simple formula is derived relating the damage parameter to the proximity of the cavities. It is further studied how the concentration and nonlinearity influence the growth of the cavities.
