A Measuring Method for Disorder Motion in Traffic Flow Based on Traffic Entropy

Abstract

It is very important to quantitatively describe the disorder motion in traffic flow to study transition process between disorder motion and order motion. A definition of the disorder motion in traffic flow was given in order to quantitatively describe the disorder motion in traffic flow through analyzing the concept of order motion and disorder motion. A measuring model of disorder motion in traffic flow was put forward based on traffic entropy. The model was applied to analyze the disorder motion in traffic flow and the thresholds of 9 actual traffic flows were calculated.
