    Abstract
Abstract. Radio frequency ablation (RFA) is emerging as a promising technique for kidney tumor treatment because of its effectiveness, minimal invasiveness, and lower chances of complications. This study presents a comparative investigation of radio frequency ablation of a renal tumor with and without the use of gold nanoparticles (GNPs). The results demonstrate that the temperature and thermal damage both increase by using GNPs. However, they significantly diminish with increasing distance from the tip. Specifically, GNPs reduced the time required to achieve complete thermal damage at the tip by approximately 9.5% and significantly improved the extent of thermal damage for greater distances from the probe. These findings lay the groundwork for advancing nanotechnology-mediated thermal therapies for renal tumors and beyond.
