Monitoring and evaluating the durability performance of concrete is crucial for predicting its remaining service life. This paper comprehensively discusses various types of monitoring and evaluation equipment used to assess the durability damage in marine concrete, which compares their advantages, disadvantages, and engineering application prospects. The results revealed that each assessment method, based on different physical principles, has its limitations. The electrochemical method offers high accuracy but is currently impractical for engineering applications. On the other hand, traditional corrosion monitoring methods fail to provide sufficient accuracy; furthermore, among numerous durability indexes, steel corrosion poses the greatest threat to durability performance but is also the most challenging to evaluate accurately.
