    Abstract
In order to fully comprehend the mechanical behavior of airport oil pipelines under different kinds of loading, field tests were designed to obtain the intensity of self-weight stress and additional load, the radial earth pressure of the pipeline, and the strains in the axial and circumferential directions of the pipe body at different buried depths. From the experimental results: (1) The earth pressure at the top of the pipeline has a linear positive correlation with the buried depth, and the proportional coefficient is basically consistent with the soil depth ratio. (2) Under vehicle loading, the axial force which converts to the axial strain and circumferential strain of the pipe body is far less than the allowable force, implying that the buried depth of the pipeline can be further optimized and compressed. (3) Vibration rolling of the top surface of the soil fill under the action of the vibratory roller has little influence on the pipeline because the coincidence of its axial direction and the axial direction of the pipeline causes the axial strains to cancel each other out. And (4) Comparison of the field test results and calculation results from the finite element model and theoretical formula method reveals accuracy in the data and test results.
