description abstractThe design of a new federal courthouse in Jackson, Mississippi, was well under way in 2005 when the U.S. General Services Administration selected the structure for a pilot project on the use of building information modeling (BIM) software. Although BIM was a new approach at the time for most members of the design and construction teams, the lessons learned during the courthouse project make a strong case in its favor.
