description abstractThe performance of fiber asphalt mixture was studied through a series of capability test, such as water stability test, high stability test, low temperature crack resistance test and fatigue stability test. In the water stability test, result shows that fiber has good adhesive property with asphalt, and fiber asphalt mixture has good water stability in the condition of proper mixture interspaces. The result of rut test, of mixture shows that fiber asphalt mixture’s high temperature ability is much better than common asphalt mixture. It is proposed that the index of time cumulation of rutting deformation should be considered as the index of dynamic stability when estimating high temperature stability. The tests also prove that fiber can improve mixture’s low temperature and fatigue ability, polymer fiber has very good ability to improve asphalt mixture performance, and cellulose fiber could improve low-temperature and water stability very much when it is used suitably.
