description abstract | In order to assess the influence of defect on the bridge and to insure the ordinary function, quantitative analysis for the failure of bridge expansion and contraction device and its evaluation method were presented. Bridge expansion and contraction device was classified according to the structural feature. Based on the various data of failure model and the field inspection, the criterion for evaluation was figured out. Six weighing parameters of part of bridge expansion and contraction device were offered using AHP and consulting with experts. The traffic influence factor and structural feature factor were introduced to reflect the influence of traffic and the difference of bridge expansion and contraction device on the assessment results. Finally quantitative analysis formula for the failure degree of bridge expansion and contraction device was put forward. The presented damage evaluation method for bridge expansion and contraction device can quantitatively assess the defect of the structure and give reference for its maintenance decisions. | |
