description abstractSubgrade failure is relative to spectrum signal received by ground penetrating radar. For the practical exploring demand of Beijing road surface, the method to identify hidden diseases in subgrade such as cavity and loose zone is studied. On the basis of summarizing the layer response to electromagnetic wave and analyzing the limitation identifying diseases, the viewpoint of transforming time section into spectrum section for explanation is put forward. The spectrum response of electromagnetic wave from cavity is of high sensitivity, so spectrum section obtained by using the method of log-power spectrum and gauss window function improves the identifying diseases capability. The testing result shows that spectrum section technology is efficient to analyze hidden diseases in subgrade.
