description abstractAimed at the excess vibration phenomenon in the operation process of one T-type rigid bridge, another bridge which with the same type of superstructure and slightly different foundation form was chosen for contrast. By testing the vibration condition of key positions of two bridges, the comparative analysis of amplitudes and spectra between the two bridges was made. The structure vibration damage was diagnosed in combination with modal analysis, and the damage reasons of the excess longitudinal vibration were discussed from the aspects of tectonic comparison, structural defects and structure stiffness. The most important reason is the partial weak stiffness of the steel pipe piles. This provides an evidence for the vibration control design. The presented method of vibration damage diagnosis has a better practicality and provided a reference for the same type of bridges.
