description abstractThis paper focuses on the problem of leachability tests for waste stabilizates/solidificates (ST/SO), with an attempt to describe the influence of the size of test specimens of ST/SO on determined leachability. It was experimentally proven that test specimen size fundamentally influences the leachability result as well as leaching process kinetics, and it was noted that the size of test specimens results in inaccuracy when assessing toxicity of waste ST/SO. The facts in question are essentially well-known, in general, but despite that, are insufficiently respected in conditions specified for leaching tests.
