description abstractIt is apparent that engineers in other countries suffer some of the same difficulties we have here in the United States, and the restrictions are not limited to engineers. A struggle commenced with the private enterprise system between wages and salaries and the desire to make a profit for the business. However, the Committee on Employment Conditions believes that profitability can be maintained, while providing better salary and benefits for employees. These improvements result through better productivity deriving from better treatment of our employees, i.e., treating them as professionals and as suggested in ASCE
