description abstractThe goal of this research was the analytical determination in a closed form of the linearized push-down curves of reinforced concrete (RC) buildings subjected to instantaneous lost of a column at the first floor. The research content refers to cases of the loss of a central, intermediate, or corner column in a spatial RC building. The novelty of this study is the inclusion of important phenomena such as joint failure and column failure in the flexural strength mechanisms of beam and slabs occurring when the instantaneous loss of a column occurs. Some experimental cases from the scientific literature were taken into account for comparison and verification of the proposed analytical model.
