description abstractThis study investigates the use of an interlocking gap gradation and rubber powder to improve the crack resistance of a cement-stabilized macadam (CSM) mixture. First, a crack-resistant interlocking gap gradation was designed by controlling the percentage of passing of the critical sieve size and the maximum nominal particle diameter. Second, the effect of different addition orders of rubber powder on the crack resistance of the CSM mixture was explored. Finally, the properties and crack resistance of the CSM mixture were analyzed based on the types of gradation and types of rubber powder. The test results show that the crack-resistant interlocking gap gradation not only strengthens the mechanical properties of the CSM mixture but also improves its crack resistance. CSM mixtures with modified rubber powder and cement added simultaneously exhibit the best crack resistance property and mechanical properties.
