description abstractIn this paper, a mathematical model is developed to predict the fly-ash brick compressive strength using three easily measurable parameters such as water absorption, initial rate of absorption, and dry density. This model will provide first-hand knowledge on the strength and quality of bricks at the construction site without the need for any large testing equipment. Additionally, an empirical model is proposed to predict the compressive strength of fly-ash brick masonry. Both proposed models are validated using the experimental results reported in the previous literature. These models can be used to standardize the quality control of fly-ash brick and its masonry at the construction site.
