description abstract | Ultrahigh-performance concrete (UHPC) exhibits exceptional strength and durability properties that facilitate smaller, more efficient members that have longer expected lifespans compared to conventional concrete. However, adoption of UHPC is slow due to a lack of design guidelines and high cost. Mixture proportions were developed using materials local to New Mexico to produce sustainable UHPC that can be used in local designs. This paper describes an experimental and analytical investigation on the flexural performance of UHPC containing local materials that included the testing of 64 small-scale beam specimens. Variables investigated in this study included compressive strength, mixture proportions, mild steel reinforcement ratio, fiber content, strength, and aspect ratio, as well as specimen length. | |
