description abstractRadar reflectivity factors determined from disdrometer measurements of drop spectra are compared with simultaneous WSR-57 radar measurements in two Oklahoma thunderstorms. The possibility of using a disdrometer for an in-field calibration check of a radar is examined and found to have limited usefulness for convective precipitation sampled at long ranges.
