description abstractAn extremely simple, practical method is presented for determining aerosol size distributions approximately. Assuming a Haze H model for aerosol particles, a set of simple graphs and tables is produced to give an immediate numerical result on the aerosol size distribution from multispectral extinction measurements. The method is particularly suited to the analysis of rough field data, or daily monitoring. A large amount of previously measured data is analyzed to show the practicality of the method. Our results may also prove helpful in the study of aerosol aspects of atmospheric models.
