description abstractTwo techniques are described for measuring air density averaged over lines from several hundred meters to several tens of kilometers in length. With only rough approximations of water vapor, an accuracy of 1% or better should be attainable using presently available equipment. One of the methods is particularly adapted to scanning a network of lines in succession since only one terminal requires power.
