description abstractVisual ranges were computed for various values of extinction coefficient, for five sets of conditions appropriate to fog and low clouds. The computations involve basic theories of visual range as developed by Allard (1876) and Koschmieder (1924). The four values of the threshold of illumination (Et) which Haig and Morton determined were used in the Allard theory computations.
